(1) SFF-8639 U.2 is a 68-pin drive interface connector with 29-pin 2-channel SAS drive interface, and is also a revision of SFF-8680 specification, with higher signal quality.
(2) Connect MultiLink SAS Drives or PCIe drives (including hard drives and SSD drives) compliant with (A) 24 Gb/s SAS and (B) 16Gb/s Gen 5 x4 PCIe or (C) PCI Express NVMe.
(3) The SFF-8639 U.2 connector has a total of 6 high-speed signal paths, but the SAS and PCIe specifications only have a maximum of 4 lane.
